Join in this cozy Christmas home tour for tons of Christmas decor and design ideas for every room in your home. Beautiful Christmas inspiration to help you create your perfect holiday style.

Before I get started on our Christmas decor each year, I like to look back on what I’ve done in previous years to help get me inspired. As you can see, I’m definitely not a minimalist when it comes to seasonal decor. I LOVE Christmas decorations and have been collecting Christmas decorations from before we even owned a house!

My biggest problem with Christmas decor is that I can never choose between the different styles and colors – I love it all! Classic red and white, neutral tones, pretty metallics, flocked trees, real trees, green trees – there’s really not much that I don’t like! Each year, I try to switch things around and try different color schemes or styles in different rooms. It definitely creates a giant mess when I’m in the process of decorating, but the end result is always worth it.

I always look forward to seeing Christmas home tours – both online and {in normal years} in person! It’s so much fun seeing all of the different ways people dress up their homes for the holidays. I have a few AMAZING Christmas home tours lined up this year, but, I thought that an early Christmas home tour inspiration post {based on last year’s decor} might be helpful. You’ll have to wait until December to see the full room reveals from this year!

I know there are a wide variety of opinions out there as to when the best time to decorate for Christmas is, but I hope you do whatever makes you happy. if you like to decorate early – go for it! And if you like to wait until after December 1st, I totally get that too. Either way, it’s still fun to look and get some Christmas decor ideas swirling around in your head. I hope you enjoy these ideas. Just click through on the links for the full post on each of the spaces.

Christmas Front Porch

There’s nothing like coming home to a warm and festive front porch! Our winter days can be pretty dark and rainy around here, so some twinkling lights and pretty Christmas touches can really help to brighten things up.

Last year, I went with more of a vintage Christmas front porch with classic red and white decor. I added some vintage sleds, some galvanized metal buckets and pretty, real flocked greenery.

Christmas Foyer

When you first come through the front door we have a small foyer before either heading into the dining room or down the hallway to the kitchen and living room. No matter how big or small a space you have, there are always easy ways to add a little Christmas spirit to your front entry. It’s always so nice to be greeted by a warm and inviting space when you walk in the door at the end of the day!

This Christmas foyer unintentionally ended up being my “Merry and Bright” space with lots of Merry and Bright references with the decor. 🙂

Christmas Dining Room

Our dining room is the first main room you see when you come in our front door and is usually the first space that I decorate for the holidays! Although we don’t actually eat in here that much, we do have some special family meals in here and are always using the room for other things.

I always have fun putting together Christmas centerpieces and this snowy landscape hurricane lantern was one of my favorites. It looked so pretty twinkling at night!

I also like to set up some kind of seasonal beverage bar or snack bar in the far corner of our dining room and have done lots of fun different set-ups over the years including a hot chocolate bar and a jingle juice bar. Last year, it was all about the milk and cookies! 🙂

I also really enjoy decorating our sideboard and try to do some kind of theme each year. If you’re not sure where to start with Christmas decorating, putting together a little vignette on a table, shelving unit, or corner space is a great place to start.

We got this flocked tree for our dining room a few years ago now and I absolutely LOVE having a tree in our dining room. You can see it from almost everywhere on our main floor and it’s one of the first things you see when you come in the door.

Christmas Kitchen

As you pass straight through the dining room you come into our kitchen. I think this is the easiest room for me to decorate and I love mixing in those little Christmas touches while still keeping things functional. I’m actually NOT doing any red in our kitchen this year, but I really do love the red pops of color against the white.

Even if you don’t like to decorate a lot, adding a few Christmas touches in the kitchen can really make a big difference. Or just pick a little corner to put up a display.

I always say it’s not the holidays until I bring out our Mrs. Meyers holiday scents – lol! This pine scent was a favorite from last year and the only one that I could find up in Canada this year. I was hoping to try the orange this year, but I guess pine will be it!

Christmas Living Room

The last room that I’m showing you today is our living room. I always like to make this as cozy as possible – especially during the holidays. I went with mostly green and metallics last year and am planning on keeping a similar color scheme this year – with a few changes of course!

We watch a lot of Christmas movies around here so the sofa is always filled with lots of pillows and blankets for cozying up.

I also like to add lots of twinkle lights, candles, and, of course, the lights from the Christmas tree and Christmas mantel.

I’m thinking about painting this big Merry Christmas sign above our mantel gold this year, but I’m trying to find some kind of technique that would make it less of a bright gold. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this?  Let me know if you do!

Hopefully this post has made you excited to start decorating for Christmas this year. I know it’ll be a different Christmas season for sure this year, but that’s even more reason to create an extra special, cozy place at home. I have lots of fun ideas planned this year, so I hope you’re able to follow along. If you have anything specific you’re hoping to see, just leave me a comment and I will do my best!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this cozy Christmas home tour. 🙂

Can you share where the ornaments on the flocked dining room tree are from? I’d love to know its the exact style i’m going for!

They’re just kind of a collection from all over. Many of them were from a local store that has since closed down. Most of the rest are from HomeSense and then there are a few special ones that I pick up on my travels. 🙂
