Simple Spring Kitchen Decor

Add some pretty spring touches to your home with these simple spring kitchen decor ideas. Easy tips and tricks that can be adapted for any sized space and design style.

Spring Home Tours

Winter is my least favorite season of the year, so I’m always happy to start bringing out our spring decor! Even if the weather outside isn’t quite spring-like yet, I know that those longer, warmer days are just around the corner. Today, I’m joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for her annual spring home tour series. There will be over 30 homes on the tour, all decorated for spring. Today I’m going to be showing you around our kitchen and giving you all of my tips and tricks for adding some simple spring touches to your kitchen space.

Spring Kitchen Decor

The kitchen might not be the first place you think of when it comes to adding seasonal decor, but it’s always one of my favorite places to switch up for the seasons. Most of us spend a lot of time in the kitchen each day, so you might as well make it pretty! Adding some spring decor to your kitchen doesn’t have to be hard or expensive. Just a few simple touches can make all the difference! Here are my favorite tips…

Use what you have in different ways.

I haven’t really bought anything new for our kitchen for a couple of years in terms of spring or Easter decor, but I do still try to switch up what we already have.  Add some greenery to your regular decor, switch up your kitchen towels, or change up where you usually put your seasonal items. You can always pull items from other rooms as well, so shop your home and find a few decor pieces to swap. As you’re changing things up, declutter any items that you notice that you no longer use or love.

Keep things tidy on a tray.

No one wants the look of a cluttered kitchen and trays are one of the best ways to make everything look more pretty and organized. Corralling items on a tray gives your display a more unified look and makes keeping your counters clean so much easier.

Add 1 or 2 seasonal items to your tray for a fun, decorative touch. You can easily change these out each season for a new look without changing up your whole decor.

Display some art.

I always enjoy switching up our artwork each season. We have one frame on the counter and another couple of frames hanging by out kitchen table. You can use favorite seasonal photos, find art that has colors or images that you love, or look for free printables that go with your decor and style.

I like to store all of my seasonal prints in the photo frame throughout the year and just rotate them around as needed. Super quick and easy!

Add a seasonal vignette.

Depending on the size of your kitchen, create one or two spots for your Easter or spring decor to create a pretty vignette. I use this space at the end of our kitchen counter as it’s the least used counter space.

If you’re short on space, mix in functional items with your seasonal items. Cookie jars are also perfect for storage if you don’t want to use them for storing cookies!

I have a few places throughout the kitchen for our white bunnies and just add them in with our regular decor.

Dress up the sink.

I love dressing up our kitchen sink each season with a few pretty {and functional!} touches. It just takes a couple of minutes to do and makes washing dishes a little more enjoyable. 😉

A small tray, cutting board, or cake stand works well to hold dish soap, hand soap, scrub brushes or any other kitchen sink necessities. Add one or two simple seasonal touches, and you have the perfect display.

Decorate a chalkboard.

A chalkboard is one of the most inexpensive ways to switch up your seasonal decor and they can be a lot of fun to decorate! If you haven’t tried playing around with chalkboard designs yet – give it a go! Chalk is very forgiving so don’t be worried about being perfect. Just stick with a simple design and have fun! If you’re really not comfortable coming up with your own chalkboard designs, you can use a vinyl cutter and white vinyl to create your image. {If you have a Cricut, you can find my Happy Easter design HERE}. For a more realistic look, just add some chalkboard dust around it. Or you can follow this tutorial for how to transfer an image onto a chalkboard. I topped our chalkboard with this fun DIY mini bunny bunting and a cute bunny towel.

Freshen up with flowers.

One of my favorite things about the start of spring is all of the fresh flowers! While it might not be possible to have fresh flowers all the time, they’re definitely a nice little indulgence. I especially love tulips at this time of year as they come in so many different colors and varieties and can usually be picked up at the grocery store for less than $5.

You can always add in some fresh greenery from your yard to bulk up your flower displays or even add in a few faux stems. You can find all of my tips and tricks for making flowers last longer HERE. Have some faux greenery or flowers on hand to sub in when you don’t have fresh flowers around.

Add a spring centerpiece.

I always look forward to switching up our table centerpieces each season. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or time-consuming. This year I brought some of that spring green indoors with this easy DIY tropical spring centerpiece.

This centerpiece goes together in about 15 minutes and should hopefully last right through the summer! You can find the simple tutorial HERE.
