The cooler weather is starting to hit and I love snuggling up with a warm drink and a cozy blanket at night while I am reading a book or watching television.  It always seems like such a luxury to have some time to myself!  If you are like me you will love this slow cooker spiced cranberry apple hot punch.  It’s perfect for parties or just those quiet evenings with your book!

Author: Jenn
Recipe type: Drinks
Prep time:  5 mins
Cook time:  2 hours
Total time:  2 hours 5 mins
Serves: 10

This lightly spiced hot punch makes the perfect holiday drink with a wonderful balance between sweet and tart!
Ingredients
  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 4 cups unsweetened apple juice
  • 2 cups brewed tea {I used a cranberry herbal tea but a black tea would work too}
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup lemon juice
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 12 whole cloves
Instructions
  1. In a 4 quart slow cooker {or larger}, add the cranberry juice, apple juice, tea, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir.
  2. Tie up the cinnamon sticks and cloves in a double thickness cheesecloth and add to the slow cooker. NOTE: If you do not have cheesecloth, you can add these ingredients directly and strain once heated.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours. Discard spices. Serve warm.

I do something similar for Halloween when it’s chilly outside and everyone wants to warm up a bit. Must try this cranberry version. Happy Thanksgiving!

I got them from Superstore {It’s a grocery store in Canada if you are not from here!} They were a great deal!
