Great summer patio ideas!
I have been working away on our outdoor spaces for this month’s Household Organization Diet and am excited to finally show you our finished back patio.  Hopefully you find some summer patio ideas that you can use for inspiration in your own space!

Great summer patio ideas!
The patio opens up off of our kitchen.  It is just really an extension of our eating area and we love to eat out there as much as possible during the summer.

 It is great to wake up to the sunshine in the morning and, since it is east facing, it is nice and cool by supper time.

One of my projects this year was repainting our old wooden planter.  It was in really bad shape but a little paint brought it back to life and added a nice pop of color!

It took me a while to find an outdoor carpet that I liked but I finally found this one at Target that I love.

While I was there, I also picked up a new recliner and a few colorful pillows. {Because we all know you can’t just buy one thing from Target!}

On the other side of the patio, there is a little sitting area – perfect for some summer lounging.

Give me a book and a big bowl of cherries and I could stay out there all afternoon!

I was also happy to bring my picnic caddy and frosted mason jars back out from last year.  Still loving the color!

I am not typically much of a gardener but I do love planting flowers every year.  It’s such a pretty way to dress up the space and I love mixing and matching all of my favorites.

    What a great inspiration. I have wanted to put an upholstered set on my uncovered patio for years, but have concerns regarding the effects of the sun on fabric. How long has your set been outside? It is so pretty.

      This is our second year with that set and it still pretty much looks new. I did have to replace the umbrella due to sun fading but I spent a bit more on this one for more fade resistent material and hope that it last longer. A lot of the table actually ends up getting shaded from the umbrella.

    It looks so pretty, Jenn! I am even a little jealous. Is it really a rug under the table? I wonder how you maintain and clean an outdoor rug?

      Yes, it is a specific outdoor rug so the materials are more weather resistent. We do bring it in during the colder months but we still get a fair amount of rain during the summer and it does fine with that. 🙂

    What a lovely and spacious area and the way you have it decorated is fabulous! If I had a patio like this I would be hard pressed to come indoors for any reason.

    May I ask where you got those clear handled mugs with the blue rim. Love them!! Are they glass or plastic?

      They’re just plastic. I purchased them last year at Superstore {which is a Canadian grocery store if you are not from here!}.
