Spring and Easter Kitchen Decor

I’ve actually had our spring kitchen decor done for a few weeks now, but with everything going on, I just haven’t had a chance to share it yet. It’s still hard to believe how much has changed over the last few weeks! The world continues to move on, however, and Easter will soon be here, so I thought today would be a good day to give you a tour of our spring and Easter kitchen decor. I hope you like it!

 

Easter Kitchen Decor

The kitchen is often forgotten when it comes to seasonal decorating, but it’s always one of the first places I like to decorate. We spend so much time in here, that a few seasonal touches make it feel a little bit warmer and happier. Small changes can make a big impact so it really doesn’t take a lot of time or extra decor pieces.  Here are my favorite Easter kitchen decor tips to get you started…

Use what you have in different ways.

I didn’t really get anything new for our kitchen this year in terms of spring or Easter decor, but I do still try to switch up what we already have.  Display seasonal cookbooks, add some greenery to your regular decor, or switch up your kitchen towels. You can always pull items from other rooms as well, so shop your home and find a few decor pieces to switch around. As you’re changing things up, declutter any items that you notice that you no longer use or love.

Add artwork.

Artwork is an easy way to add some color and personality to your space. There are lots of beautiful free Easter printables that you can use if you’re working on a budget, or use other artwork that fits with your color scheme. I used this Fresh Flower Market printable to tie in with the pink and green touches I used in the kitchen this year.

Put together a seasonal beverage bar.

I always like to do a seasonal beverage bar and whipped up a really quick mini hot chocolate bar this year. The bunny cookie jar contains the hot chocolate powder and marshmallows and, of course, you always need mini-eggs. All of our mugs are kept in the cupboard right beside it {and the utensils are in the drawer below} so everything is easily accessible. Create a pretty sink display.

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that I always like to switch up our sink display each season. It literally just takes a couple of minutes and adds such a pretty touch to an otherwise not-so-pretty space. I usually use some kind of cake stand, cutting board, or other riser to place our dish and hand soaps on, and then add 1 or 2 very simple seasonal items.  I like the style of the Mrs. Meyers soap bottles and look forward to changing up the scents with each season too. {TIP: If you have small amounts of left over dish soaps or hand soaps, you can always re-use the bottles until you use up what you have. That way, you don’t start getting a huge collection of partially used soaps!}

Add fresh flowers or other greenery.

If I could only place fresh flowers in one room of the house, it would definitely be the kitchen. Since we spend so much time in here, it’s where I get to enjoy them the most and they just brighten everything up. Tulips are probably my favorite flowers in terms of what you can get for the price. I can always find them at our local grocery stores and they come in a bunch of colors and varieties. I especially love the double tulips and pick those up whenever I find them. {TIP: Read this post to see how to make fresh flowers last longer}

Create a simple Easter vignette or two.

Kitchen counter space is prime real estate, so you don’t want it to feel cluttered with decor. Depending on the size of your kitchen, create one or two spots for your Easter or spring decor to create a pretty vignette. I use this space at the end of our kitchen counter as it’s the least used counter space. If you have smaller items, corralling everything onto a tray or cutting board will make it look more unified and cut down on the cluttered look.

Hang a chalkboard.

I usually love switching up our chalkboard each season, but if you’re feeling lazy, you can always just hang a seasonal banner from it and call it a day. I made this Hippity Hop banner years ago and move it around to various locations each year.

This cute bunny towel was the one new thing that I was able to get for the kitchen this year. I picked it up at HomeSense right before the lock down and layered it over the pink striped towel that I had hanging before.

Put together a seasonal centerpiece.

I always look forward to switching up our table centerpieces each season. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or time-consuming. Just something to add a little Easter or spring touch to your space.

I put together this tropical Easter planter for our table this year. I can always take out the bunny and Easter eggs after Easter and it can transition through the rest of spring {and even into summer!}

Here’s another Easter centerpiece idea that I made for our dining room. Again, it just took a few minutes to put together and I can use the hurricane candle holder for other seasonal decor.
