Preschool Graduation Party

Last month my little guy graduated from preschool.  I still can’t believe that he will be going to Kindergarten in September but I am slowly trying to get myself used to the idea.  Am I seriously old enough to have two kids in elementary school?

Since Connor’s preschool didn’t have a graduation celebration, I thought that I would throw one at our place.  I kind of think that this is a pretty big milestone for a five year old.  You only graduate from preschool once!
Remember the graduation invitations that I posted about last month?
Well, I am finally getting around to posting the rest of the party!

We ended up having nine little graduates and their families over so I am happy that the weather actually cooperated for us and we could spend the majority of the party outside.  One hour after the party was over, the skies darkened, a torrential downpour started, and our power went out.  It must have been fate!

I purchased most of the party decorations from Oriental Trading and picked up the graduation sign at Target.

I also found some cute printable tags from Lil Luna and added them to the straws.

Our drink station consisted of lemonade and Connor’s favorite punch {Sprite and raspberry frozen yogurt}

We had the basic snacky party food outside {chips, fruit plate, and veggie plate} but kept the majority of the desserts inside.  I decorated the cake with a cute pennant printable that I found over on Paging Supermom.

I also printed a larger one out to decorate the hutch and just added some red scrapbook paper behind it with baker’s twine.

The kids got to take home a “class ring”{ring pops}, some graduation bubbles, some gummy treats, one of the graduation owls, and a graduation beach ball.

We did the actual graduation ceremony outside complete with Pomp and Circumstance and the kids all took turns walking down the aisle in their caps to get their medals {also order from Oriental Trading Company}.  I tried to get some pictures of them all at the end and as they were throwing their caps in the air but they didn’t turn out too well. They all still looked super cute!
I also printed out the Preschool Graduate sign from Paging Supermom and took individual pictures of the kids with them holding the sign {see Connor’s picture above – not his most photogenic moment!}

I am so glad that Connor had such a great preschool experience and had the chance to meet some wonderful friends.  He misses all of his buddies already but is ready for the new challenge ahead {even if his Mommy isn’t!}

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

    So cute Jenn! Sentimental times… my daughter graduated from kindergarten in June & starts grade 1 in Sept. Everyone always says “they grow up so fast” but it really is true! Enjoy the next phase!

    Great story. My five year old recently graduated from kinder and they had a mobile reptile party where kids got to hold animals. The children even got to pat a crocodile!
    We got nice photos as before we know it, the kid’s will be teenagers.

    Cute. I glad you made a big deal about it. A lot of parents just shrugged it off, and say good job. Looks like a fun party.

    I consider you’ve created some genuinely exciting points. Not too most people would in reality consider about this the way you simply did. I’m really impressed that there’s a lot about this topic that’s been uncovered and you also did it so tremendously, with a lot class.
