Opinions Needed!!!

Okay, I have a favor to ask.  I am stumped on a project and am in need of a little advice.  Anyone else have those moments??

I started a yarn wreath way back in November sometime {with the intention of making a Christmas wreath}.  With all of the craziness of the holidays it didn’t get completed.  I didn’t want to put all of my work to waste and really didn’t want to be doing a Christmas project in January so I changed things up a bit {I’m sure you know how that goes!} I added a few random natural elements balls, a pine cone, and a couple of the beige yarn balls.

So here is my wreath up to this point.

So here is my question.  If I compete the whole wreath like this, will it be too full?  Would it look better if I just do the bottom half?  Should I leave it as is?  I really don’t want to spend a bunch of time completing the whole thing, only to decided that I liked it better with some of the vine wreath still showing.  That being said, I do have quite a few more yarn balls already completed.
If it helps, this is where it will be going once I figure out what the heck to do with it.  This is our laundry room/mudroom.  I just finished organizing everything today {post to follow!} and needed something for above the shelf.
So, what do you think???  I would love to hear what you have to say!

I really like the elements you are using, but I feel like if you complete the whole wreath it will be too full. I think it would look really good if you just put like one of each ball, pine cone, etc on the side there where you have the stuff now. I hope that made sense. Love the color combination!

What fun idea!! i like it they way it is! I like they way the brown from the wreath combines with colors of the yarn. Definitely let some of the vines show!

    🙂

I like the way it is but I feel like it’s to right heavy. Maybe you could ease back into the vine wreath by now adding smaller balls/elements to the top/bottom edges of where you are now ending it. I guess just something to give balance?? Just my 2 cents 🙂 But I love your colors and textures.

I would turn it so the yarn balls are on the bottom. It does look heavy on the right side.
(Your yarn balls are between 1:00 o’clock to 5:00 o’clock– turn it so the balls are between 4:00 to 7:00.)
    Does this make sense?
I like your colors, especially the green!

I feel like it is too heavy on the one side. I would probably finish the whole thing… Maybe incorporating more elements so that you don’t have to make quite so many yarn balls. You could possibly leave that side as is and then maybe go smaller the rest of the way around it. That is just my opinion! Love the idea

    Hi Jenn!!
I featured you on my Crafters A.D.D. blog (your January Calendar post). You can find it at

Thanks for your inspiration. I truly hope one of these days I will find the time and the products to complete something like this!

I agree that it is a litte heavy. I would maybe put a few elements on the opposite side, kind of diagonally from where you have eveything now. I think a bow would finish it off nicely too. Great idea on using the pine cones etc!

I love it as it but was thinking maybe a bow, I just love bows!! I also thought maybe a color that was bold too. In my mind I keep coming back to yellow but any bold would be pretty and I would put it parallel to the yarn balls. I love the mix of girlie with earthy… That is just me and I know you will make it gorgeous!!

found you through Funky Junk Interiors. I love the concept, and your colors. But I agree with others – it’s too heavy all on one side. I would either take a few balls out or else do something to pull one or two fo the ball colors to the other side – like a ribbon, bow, or thin garland. Glad I found your blog – I’d love to see a post on the final outcome of the wreath!

i am with blending it down with smaller balls. i think a whole wreath of it would be great for a front door, but not where you are placing it. it’s pretty right heavy. but lovely!

Thank-you all so much for your suggestions!! I totally agree it is too right side heavy if left as is. I’m going to try tapering it down and I will play around with a bow or adding something on the other side. You guys are awesome! I should have it done this weekend and will post the final wreath with my organized laundry room post. Thanks again!!!!

love the colors! I’d maybe switch to smaller size balls so you get the same effect but with less weight. can’t wait to see how it turns out 🙂

I love it! Since other posters indicated it might be too heavy, maybe you can balance it out by affixing a large bow on the opposite side – a bright green one for St Pat’s, or maybe a “Springier” color for April & May.
    It is beautiful.
