Valentine’s Day Gift Idea

That big day of love  is just around the corner and I have the perfect Valentine’s Day gift idea for your favorite loved ones! There’s no better gift to your special Valentine than time spent together. In order to show your love throughout the whole year, prepare 12 date nights for you and your loved one to do together – one for each month. This is perfect for both partners and kids!!

I pre-purchased all of the gift cards for dinners, movies, etc. and put them in an envelope with the date card for each month.  You could always just write your date on the card through and pay as you go to make it easier on the budget. It’s a great way to make sure that you get some dedicated time together and will be fun for both of you! 🙂

Non-Material Gift Ideas

The gift of experiences and time spent together is so much more meaningful than material presents. Think of favorite places that you used to go together in the past, or things that you have talked about doing that just never seem to happen.  You could also leave a few “mystery months” in there and plan something extra special too!   Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Date Night Ideas for Couples

  • dinner out at a favorite restaurant or a restaurant that has special meaning to both of you
  • tickets to a concert
  • a romantic dinner at home {after the kids have gone to bed!}
  • go for a hike with a picnic lunch
  • tickets to a sporting event
  • a night of pampering with their favorite treats and a massage
  • have a movie night {either in or out}
  • do a favorite sporting activity together
  • a weekend getaway
  • game night

Date Night Ideas for Kids

Don’t limit this little gift idea for just your spouse. It’s also a great gift for the kids and is a fun alternative to all of that chocolate!  Remember that the dates don’t have to be anything extravagent, but it’s always fun to throw in a few special events. Here are some kids dates that we’ve done:

  • family movie night
  • trip to the zoo, aquarium, or science center
  • dinner {and dessert!} of their choice. If your kids are older it’s kind of fun to make it together!
  • an outing to your library to pick out some books
  • sporting events
  • pizza and movie night in
  • escape room
  • family game night
  • outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, or bike trip. Pack a yummy picnic lunch or favorite treats.
  • dessert for dinner night
  • family swim. Pick a pool that you don’t usually go to.
  • playground day. This is fun for younger kids. Tour around town and hit up all of the local playgrounds.
  • music concert or other show
  • amusement park
  • day at the beach

      The envelopes were actually from some Christmas cards that I picked up for 80% off after Christmas at Chapters. I hope your husband likes his gift!

      How is it printing? Or is it not printing at all? It works on my end.

    It prints, but it doesn’t print everything on one page. It seems to be making the document bigger than one page.

      It sounds like it is something that needs to be adjusted on your printer. If it’s just printing slightly larger than the page, ours as a “fit to page” button that can be clicked. I just tested it, and it prints out the 4 months/page on our printer without any problems. I’m not sure what else to suggest. Sorry!

    Fun idea! I know how hard it can be to get away with my husband for a date night. It’ll be fun to plan dares in advance.

      Yes! We hardly ever get out spur of the moment. It definitely needs to be planned! It can even be a date “in” after the kids are in bed if you can’t get away. 🙂
