Add a touch of spring to your home with these simple spring decorations for the kitchen.  Quick and easy ways to decorate for spring!

Canadian Bloggers’ Spring Home Tours

I know that spring isn’t quite officially here yet, but I’m ready to celebrate it anyways!  This week, I’m joining some of my favorite Canadian blogging friends for the Canadian Bloggers’ Spring Home Tour hosted by Shannon from Home Made Lovely and Christina from The DIY Mommy.

We’re all opening up our homes throughout the week, and sharing our favorite spring decorating ideas with you.  Be sure to visit the links at the end of the post for those bloggers joining me today, and check back all week for some amazing spring home tours!

If you haven’t guessed already, I’m going to be showing you around our kitchen.  It’s amazing how a couple of little changes and a few of pops of color can really transition a space.  Here are a my favorite ways to easily add some spring decor to your kitchen.

Simple Spring Decorations for the Kitchen

Display Fresh Flowers.

I LOVE fresh flowers and I wish I could have them out all of the time.  Unfortunately, the budget doesn’t always allow for that, but you can often find some great deals at this time of year.  {Of course, it’s an extra bonus if you have any greenery, forsythia, or other branches that you can cut from your own yard!}

An inexpensive bunch of tulips can add that perfect color pop and will usually last at least a week.   I mixed these ones with some freesia that I just picked up at the grocery store.  So pretty!

Create a Seasonal Beverage Bar

I usually have some kind of seasonal beverage bar out that I switch up with each holiday and season.  It really only takes a few minutes to put together and adds a fun touch to the space.  For this bunny bar, I added hot chocolate powder, marshmallows, and mini-eggs to some glass milk bottles and created some printable labels for them {you can download similar Easter hot chocolate bar labels here}.  I picked up the bunny cookie jar at Walmart {it was less than $10!} and added my favorite Happy mugs.

Pop in a Printable

Printables are one of my favorite ways to decorate for each season.  They’re quick, inexpensive, and such a cute way to add that spring touch!  You can find so many free options online with a wide variety of styles and designs.  I posted this free Farmer’s Market spring printable a couple of weeks ago and have a number of other spring designs on the blog as well. {You can see some of them here, here, and here}.

Add a Colorful Dish Towel

I’m always rotating our dish towels around and found this striped blue and green one that went perfectly with the Farmer’s Market print.  Home Sense {or Home Goods in the States} is one of my favorite places to find pretty, inexpensive kitchen towels.  They add a nice pop of color to your kitchen and are functional as well!  You can’t go wrong with that. 🙂

Decorate a Chalkboard

Chalkboards are another easy way to change things up each season.  If you’re short on storage space for seasonal items, chalkboards are a great way to go!  I change this one out in our kitchen at least every couple of months and usually switch up the towel too.

Use Faux Greenery or Flowers

You can’t always have fresh flowers, so mix some faux greenery or florals into your spring decor.  The styles and designs have come a long way over the past few years, so you can find lots of options to add that color and texture to your space.

Even our kitchen command center got a few new gold touches for spring!

I hope you enjoyed the tour and are inspired to add a little spring to your home.  It’s a great way to get over that winter hump until spring truly arrives!  If you’re new here, I’d love to have you follow along…

I bought it almost 20 years ago at The Brick. It was a really bright honey color and I painted it in Annie Sloan chalk paint in graphite about 5 years ago. Paint can make a huge difference in the look!
