Rustic fall sign tutorial. I love this quote!
Hey guys! I have a colorful post for you today – AND an awesome giveaway at the end!

Love all of these colors from the BEHR 2016 Color Trends!
I am joining my fellow BEHR DIY Experts to bring you some of our favorite colors and projects from the new BEHR Color Trends 2016 line!  You can find all of the links at the end of the post, so don’t forget to check them out!

Love all of these colors from the BEHR 2016 Color Trends!
BEHR has put together an amazing collection of paint colors for this year’s color trends!  I headed out to Home Depot and picked up a bunch of the BEHR Premium Plus Ultra sample pots – some will be used for projects {like the ones for this fall sign!} and a couple of the others are potential paint choices for our basement bathroom.  Choosing wall colors is a really long process for me! 😉

For my sign, I painted the canvas using Bowstring {T16-19U}.  Although it looks quite white in the photos, I would say that it is more of a really light, warm grey.  It’s so pretty and would work really well as a wall color in our house.  If you are a beginner painter like me, I highly recommend that you paint your canvas even if you still want to keep it white so that you can paint over any mistakes that you make. {Let’s just say that there were a few of them!}  For the quote, I lightly outlined everything in pencil to get the spacing, and then filled it in with a Sharpie.

The leaves were painted with Galapagos {T16-04D}, Raw Copper {T16-14D} and Fifth Olive-Nue {T16-08M}.  I love these colors together and they work perfectly for fall!

For the frame, I stained some 1×2 pieces of wood {garden stakes also work well} and cut them down to the size of the canvas.  Just pop them on with some nails or a nail gun and you are good to go! {You can find more details if needed on this post}
