Reindeer Donut Holes

If you’re looking for a quick and easy Christmas treat idea, whip up some of these adorable reindeer donut holes! They’re simple enough for the kids to make with you and make a fun addition to any Christmas table.  If you’re giving them away as gifts or making them ahead of time, you can always wrap them up with a little cellophane too.

MATERIALS

  • chocolate donut holes
  • candy eyes
  • red M&M’s or other candy
  • paper straw or candy stick
  • cookie icing {you want to make sure it’s icing that will harden}
  • brown pipe cleaners

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Press down slightly on a donut hole to flatten the bottom a bit.  Add the eyes and nose with the cookie icing and allow to harden. TIP: Lay the donut hole down when it’s hardening so you don’t have gravity pulling the candies down.
  • If you are NOT wrapping the donut holes: Cut a paper straw in half.  Tie a brown pipe cleaner around it snugly keeping the ends of the pipe cleaner the same length. Wrap the ends around a pencil to form the antlers.  Add the straw to the top of the donut hole once the icing is dry.
  • If you ARE wrapping the donut holes: Cut a paper straw in half.  Add the straw to the top of the donut hole once the icing is dry. Wrap in a square piece of clear cellophane and tie together with a brown pipe cleaner {pull it nice and tight!}.  Wrap the ends around a pencil to form the antlers and bend into desired shape.

You could even make these guys for a fun night of watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  They take hardly any time to make. You could probably finish them before the water finished boiling for the hot chocolate! 🙂
