Joy to the World

One more week to go!!  I can hardly believe Christmas is almost here!  Anyone else feeling a little short on time?  I was up until 1:00am last night finishing off the last of the reindeer candy canes for Matthew’s class.  They only take about 10 minutes but I somehow forgot about multiplying that by 20!  I am sure there will be at least a project or two that will not get completed in time for Christmas.

Well, I am trying to get the last of my Christmas projects posted.  Here is the last of my glitter obsession.

I bought the wooden stand about 4 months ago at Michaels because it was on clearance for $1.99.  I didn’t really know what I was going to do with it but I knew it would come in handy one day!

I started off by painting it black.

I then cut out some scrapbook paper (this was from My Mind’s Eye) a little smaller than the stand itself.  I glued it on with Quick Grip.

I made the glitter letters last week when I was doing the other glitter projects.  The letters are wooden and I just used spray adhesive to adhere the glitter (it definitely created a lovely mess!)

I adhered a ribbon with double sided tape and added the joy letters (using the Quick Grip again) and some American Craft stickers for the “to the world”.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and can find some quiet time to spend with your family amidst all of this holiday chaos!!

I linked up with It’s Fun to Craft, House of Hepworths, Chic on a Shoestring, Young and Crafty, Fingerprints on the Fridge, Tatertots and Jello, Ain’t She Crazy Funky Junk, I Heart Naptime, Under the Table and Dreaming, Be Different Act Normal, A Little Lovely, Tip Junkie, Embellishing Life, Craft-O-Maniac, and Paisley Passions.

This is beautiful! I have endured some of those glitter messes before…but they are worth the hassle! I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
