It Really Is a Good Good Life

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and remembered to turn those clocks forward!  I think one less hour of sleep is a good trade off for 6 months of longer evenings!
I have been feeling a little bogged down lately with the bedroom makeover so I spent some time over the weekend working on a nice, easy, project.  I found this sign that I liked from Joss and Main and decided that I wanted something similar for my bedroom.  How I love projects that you can finish in an hour!
 I think we all need a little reminder every now and then that life really is good! I love canvas projects and always stock up on them when I find a good deal.  This one measures 12 x 12.  Sorry that I didn’t take any pictures of the actual process but it is pretty straight forward.
  1. Paint your canvas and distress the edges with sandpaper.
  2. Take a 12 x 12 sheet of scrapbook paper {mine is Echo Park}, trim it down slightly to leave a border around the canvas and use a corner punch on the edges to round them out {or just give them a little snip!}  Distress the edges of the scrapbook paper.
  3. Using my Silhouette, I printed out the wording on vinyl and used the negative space for my stencil.  You can always use regular stencils or freezer paper if you don’t have a cutting machine.
  4. Paint the letters and carefully remove the vinyl {I did not have any difficulty with it sticking to the paper}  Once the paint is dry you can lightly distress your letters.
  5. Cut out a paper heart, distress the edges and glue into place.  Cut a 12 x 1 inch strip of the same paper, distress it, and attach close to the top of the canvas.  I then gave the whole thing a light sanding over the front.  Glue to the canvas using lots of glue.  If you have a brayer, turn your canvas over and roll the brayer over the back.
  6. You can then seal it with Mod Podge but I prefer the look without.
Now if you find some canvases for a good price, don’t forget to snatch some up!  They are also great for photo projects! {The one that I made for myself can be found here}
{Those guys there are one of the main reasons to celebrate this good, good life!}

Statistically speaking, the Monday after the clocks go forward is the day of the year with the most car accidents.  So make sure to drink your coffee and pay a little extra attention when you are on the road!
Have a great day!
