Happy Friday everyone!! Just a really quick post before we head off for our shopping trip. Last week I worked on the kids Halloween invitations and I figured that I better get around to posting them. Can you believe that Halloween is just over a week away? Anyone else working on a Halloween party?

I started with these wooden boxes from Michaels. They were on sale and came to around $10 for 6 of them.

I spray painted them black on both the inside and outside and then added some black glitter paint to the outside. I added some vinyl to the front that I cut out on my Silhouette and a 3-D sticker that was left over from last year’s Halloween projects. If you don’t have a Silhouette you could easily just add stickers or stencil on the front.

I used Scrapbook paper for the bottom of the coffin (from Echo Park) and added the invite information to the front of the coffin. This was just created in a word processing document and I created a template to use so that it would fit in the box. I inked all of my edges and “dirtied” up the paper a bit before gluing it onto some orange matting. And, of course, I had to add a little baker’s twine {my new favorite product!}

Once it was completed, I added some Halloween goodies because everything is just SO much better with chocolate!

what a creative and original idea !
