Halloween Bat Treat Bags

Easy Halloween treat bags - perfect for Halloween parties!
It’s hard to believe that Halloween will soon be here!  While Halloween is not one of my personal favorites as far as holidays go, the boys love it and  I always love to see them so excited.  I try to focus on more of the fun aspects of Halloween rather than the super scary, gory parts, but I must admit that this is getting a little harder as the boys get older! 😉

A couple of weeks ago I shared our Halloween party from last year and today I wanted to show you this simple tutorial for making the bat treat bags that were on the table.  They are perfect for Halloween parties or can just be a fun way to package up a special holiday treat for your favorite goblin!

Easy Halloween treat bags - perfect for Halloween parties!Here’s what you will need for the bags:

  • black treat bags {I picked these up at the dollar store but most craft stores will also carry them}
  • black foam sheets {or you could also use thick black cardstock}
  • white cardstock
  • double sided tape
  • glue
  • baker’s twine
  • scissors
  • hole punch

The bags are really simple to put together with just a easy few steps…

  • Cut out a template for the bat wings and then trace and cut out all of your wings from the black foam sheets.  To get the wings symmetrical on the right and the left, just flip over the template to use on the opposite side.
  • Using double sided tape or glue, adhere the wings to the back of the treat bag.
  • Fold over the top of the treat bag and snip off the corners to form a triangle.
  • Cut out some triangles for the teeth using the white cardstock.  Adhere with glue to the top layer of the fold at the top of the bag.
  • Punch a hole in the top of the bag and tie with baker’s twine.

See?  Super easy!  And, of course, the best part comes when you get to choose what goodies to put in there!
