Front Entry Decorating Ideas for Spring

Add that pretty spring touch to your home with these simple front entry decorating ideas for spring.  Little changes can make such a difference!

Farmhouse style front entry way decorated for spring.

It finally feels like spring around here and I couldn’t be happier!  The sun has been out for the last few days and it’s been so nice to feel that warmth again!  I’ve been working out in the yard as much as possible and am looking forward to getting things all set up on our backyard patio.  The outside will still take quite a bit of work, but our front entry is ready to greet you for spring!

Simple Front Entry Decorating Ideas for Spring

I always enjoy switching up our front entry each season.  Just a few quick and easy changes gives it a fresh new look and provides such a welcoming feeling when we come home each day {even if the rest of the house is in chaos – lol!}. If you want to add a little spring to your front entry this year, follow these simple tips and tricks to get it set up in no time!

Start with a quick spring cleaning.

Always try to clean from the top down so you’re not getting dirt and dust on areas that you’ve already cleaned.  Check the ceiling corners for any cobwebs, clean out the light fixtures {and change the bulbs if needed!}, and wipe down the walls.  Give everything a good dusting and move the furniture if possible to clean in behind.  Finish it off with a good floor cleaning and you’re ready to decorate!

Add some texture.

I’m constantly switching all the throw pillows up around the house, and the front entry is no exception!  A pillow or two is an easy, inexpensive way to add some color, style, and texture to any space.  Just place it on your bench or stool, and you’ve got a nice comfy spot to put on your shoes!

Use your accessories as decor.

Clear out any winter gear that’s still in your front entry and store it away for the warmer months.  Pull out your favorite spring and summer accessories and donate any items that you no longer need or love. I’m kind of obsessed with purses and usually rotate between a few different ones each season.  Having some open storage to display your favorite accessories is a great way to add some color to your space.  It also makes grabbing your necessities on the way out the door so much quicker.  Style + function is always a winner!

Freshen up your area rug.

An area rug can really add some warmth to a space.  As an added bonus, it’s also great at trapping any loose dirt or debris at the door instead of spreading it throughout your home.  If you already have a rug you love, take it outside, give it a good shake, and leave it out in the sunshine for a few hours to freshen it up naturally.  Spot clean any stains or dirty areas, or run a carpet cleaner over it if you have one.

Add flowers.

Nothing says spring more than spring flowers, so grab a vase or two and add some blooms!  Mix up the occasional fresh flower bouquet with faux flowers and greens that will last all season long {and next spring too!}.

Clear the air.

Add a nice candle or diffuser with some essential oils to provide a light spring scent when you walk in the door.  I have some lemon and grapefruit oils in our diffuser and I’m loving this Garden Rose scented candle right now.

Create a “Drop Station.”

If you find that you always have little things piling up in your front entry {think keys, change, sunglasses, etc.} create a specific place for them to go so they’re out of the way.  We have a galvanized box on top of our shoe stand for my husband’s stuff and my gear gets tucked into the “mailbox”. I just added some Command hooks to hang my sunglasses and extra keys and put a little jar in there for change.

I hope these front entry decorating ideas inspire you to give a little love to your front entry this spring.  It really is nice to come home to a calm, welcoming space. 🙂

Seeing your entry sure makes me miss entry from our KY house. We don’t have an entry in house here in western CO., just walk right into living room. Your entry is so welcoming and pretty. Where did you find that incredible round galvanized table in corner? Looks to be such a versatile piece. Especially love the blue pillow with fringe in middle on bench.
    Enjoy your womderful entry.

The table is from Decor Steals and came in a set of two. I actually got two sets, and use them in a few different rooms. 🙂 Hope you’re doing well!

Thank-you! I’m not a big fan of winter so I’m always so happy when the nice weather starts to arrive. I actually just got the patio all cleaned up and the rain is now supposed to be back for the next four days. Hoping the sun comes back soon!!
