Christmas Chalkboard

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I was away for a girls’ weekend shopping trip for a couple of days {did you see me on Instagram?} and then spent most of yesterday getting the house tidied up.  Our Christmas house tour will be up on Wednesday {yikes!} so I have been busy trying to finish up all of the details. I’m kind of slow when it comes to decorating and I need to be able to play around with things for a few days.  I probably move things at least five times before I actually find a home for it.   It can be a problem… 😉

Anyways, if you have been around here for a while, you know that I have a bit of a chalkboard obsession and have quite a few chalkboards around the house that I change up each season.  This Christmas chalkboard is in our piano room and I love the pop of red from the Christmas tree garland!

I used a chalk pen for most of the chalkboard art but did still use regular chalk for the outlines and guide markers since it is much easier to erase.  I might have to pull out the magic eraser to get the chalk pen off this one!

I saw these cupcake liner Christmas trees last year over on One Perfect Day and knew that they would be the perfect topper for the chalkboard.  I used 2 regular sized cupcake liners and 1 small cupcake liner for each of my trees but you could always use the same size if you did not have different sizes.  All you need to do is fold the cupcake liner in half, and then fold it in half again.  Stack them up with a little bit of glue and you are done!

I stitched a little bell onto the tops of the trees and then strung them all together with some baker’s twine {I just used tape on the back to attach them to the twine}.

And there is one more project checked off my home tour to-do list!

I LOVE this Jenn! Sounds like you drew on the words free hand? I’m relying on vinyl for my chalkboard this year! My writing/drawing is definitely not as beautiful as yours!
