Blast from the Past {Halloween Edition}

Happy October!! I’m not really sure where September went but here it is – the first of October!  I love all of the activities that come during this month – apple picking, trips to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, and, of course, Halloween!
I know that many of you have already started decorating for Halloween but here in Canada our Thanksgiving is next weekend so I generally just have the fall decor out until turkey day is done.  For those of you that are eager to get going on the Halloween fun, I have some projects from last year to get you going!

First of all, I am SUPER excited to be featured over on HGTV today!!!

They are having a Countdown to the Holidays event and will be featuring a fabulous new Halloween project every day from now until the big day! You can click here to sign up for their 31 day newsletter so you don’t miss out.  My Mummy Halloween Countdown will be kicking off the event today!

Handprint and footprint projects always make great keepsakes and this footprint ghost sign is one of my favorite Halloween projects.

I also transformed this old lantern into a spooky spot for my crows to hang out.

I always enjoy making fun treats for the kids to take to school on the holidays.  Matthew took these Frankenstein treat boxes filled with a little bag of chocolates last year.

The kids usually spend the couple of weekends before Halloween running around in their costumes.  Here’s an easy pumpkin lunch to keep up the Halloween spirit!
We also made a few batches of this goblin potion for a {somewhat} healthy treat!

Last year I had a separate Halloween party for each of the kids {I will be posting our Halloween parties later this week!}.  I created these coffin invitations for Matthew’s party and filled them with treats.
Using some left over materials from the Frankenstein Treat Bags, I made some friendly Frankenstein Invitations up for Connor’s party.
I love looking back at all of the kids’ Halloween costumes from past years.  I created a couple of mini albums to hold their pictures and a few notes from Halloweens passed.  This tin album is Connor’s…

…and this accordion album is Matthew’s.

Hopefully that will give you a Halloween spark or two!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I linked up with Alderberry Hill, I Heart Naptime, Positively Splendid, Tatertots and Jello, Tidy Mom, Somewhat Simple, Lil Luna, Not Just a Housewife, A Bowl Full of Lemons, Be Different Act Normal, 30 Handmade Days, Crafty Scrappy Happy, At the Picket Fence, Live Laugh Rowe, The 36th Avenue, Delightful Order, The Shabby Creek Cottage, Stone Gable, Uncommon, Tip Junkie, Today’s Creative Blog, Home Stories A to Z, My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia and Skip to My Lou.

    I’m going to have to pin all of these! My weekly linky party–One Creative Weekend–has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit “One Creative Weekend” on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.
