Master Bedroom {Home Tour}

Hey guys!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I am continuing on with our home tour today and moving into our master bedroom…

Calm and relaxing master bedroom.
A couple of years ago the whole room got a paint makeover {including all of the furniture!} and we have just been adding a few little personal touches here and there to really make the space our own.

   Master-Bedroom
Just to give you an idea of what it used to look like, here is one of the before photos {you can see more here}.  Definitely in need of some work!

Master bedroom BEFORE.
The bed and night tables were all painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite and the storage trunk at the end of the bed was painted using ASCP in Paris Grey.  For the dresser I used a DIY chalky paint and stuck with white so the room didn’t look too dark.

I lightly distressed the edges of the nightstand and added some new hardware for the drawers.

To add a little pop of color to the room, I made this DIY layered photo canvas with some of my favorite photos.  It starts the day off with a little sunshine. 🙂

And since you can never have too many photos of your kids, I also made this quick and easy photo board that hangs in one of the corners.

Quick and easy way to display photos! Great gift idea!
In the other corner of the room, I created a little office/blogging space.  We do have our main home office space down in the basement but it was too far removed from the rest of the family to use during the day.  I guess I like being up where the action is!

I hope you enjoyed the little tour!  I’m working on getting the rest of the rooms together too so don’t forget to follow along or subscribe through email! 🙂

What a beautiful master bedroom you created! I love the painted furniture – especially the gray on the bed & nightstands. The little office space is really nice too. You did a great job!

I just love what you did! Good job! Where did you purchase the large hanging clock! I really like that and have been looking for one!

Thanks Debbie! I picked that up at Home Sense {Home Goods if you are in the States}. They often have nice clocks for great prices – I picked mine up for $45 and it is huge!

Gorgeous Transformation! I’m loving that light fixture! 🙂 Can I ask what color you painted your master? I’m on the hunt for the perfect gray…

That light fixture is one of my favorites too! I have had a lot of questions about the color, but my husband through out the paint can before I got the info all down. It was a Martha Stewart color but I can’t remember the name. I’ll try and figure it out next time I am at the paint store. Sorry!!

This looks fab! Can I ask where you got the stencil from for the top of the chest? I have just painted mine in Paris grey too but would love to try this stencilling! Thanks

The stencil is from Cutting Edge Stencils. They have great quality stencils – I actually used this one on one of my craft room walls as well. Have fun with your project!
