Sisal Rope Flower Pots

The boys were away this weekend and I had a much needed opportunity to get some uninterrupted work done around here.  This month has just flown by and I still had a lot of things to tackle on my To Do List for the month.  My back porch is now cleaned and looking pretty – just in time for the rain to arrive!!  Unfortunately it is forecasted to last all week but hopefully I will get a chance to show you soon!

I did manage to snap a few pictures of one of the projects that I worked on – these Sisal rope flower pots…

Sisal rope planters. Such a great way to transform those standard, ugly plastic containers - and no planting required!
I love the textured look of the Sisal and have had a few rolls lying around for a while just waiting for a project.  It’s such an easy way to dress up the standard pots that your plants come in and would be great to do for little gifts too.  All you need is some hot glue and Sisal rope {found at any home hardware store}.  Just add the glue directly to the planter in small sections and wrap the rope around.

If you run out of rope and need to start a new one, just cut the ends at an angle and blend together with a little glue.  I did this at the start and end of the rope too – it just blends right in!

Now once you wrap one pot, you have to go looking for more.  I had bought some succulents for a kitchen planter and had a few left over.  They got a little Sisal rope makeover too…

These ones ended up in our dining room.  You know, the room that I have been doing a “little” makeover on for the past 8 months?  It is taking FOR.EVER but I am hoping to have that finished up within the next month or so.  A nice stretch of warm weather would be very helpful so I can get some painting projects done! 🙂

My last little succulent ended up on our shelves in the hallway.  If you missed it, this project was done to cover up our ugly thermostat and alarm that was hanging on the wall {it is nicely hidden behind the bottom canvas}.  I also made up another DIY photo canvas to replace the Easter bunny canvas that was originally there.  And, it is kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but the walls got a nice new coat of paint too!

It’s kind of a fun little project and it is always nice to have something quick and easy-to-do when you are overwhelmed with bigger projects.  I can actually say that I finished something! For more outdoor ideas, check out these posts…

Super cute – I think I have a few pots that I could dress up a bit too. The back porch looks great with all the flowers a bloom.

I love these. I have seen some similar ideas using rope to wrap around old vases. The pots are really cute. I always wondered what kind of rope to use. I will definitely have to give this a try.

This is such a cute idea. My patio could really use some classing up and this would definitely do the trick.
