Halloween Dinner

For the past few years I have always done up a fun Halloween dinner the night that we carve our pumpkins {you can find last year’s dinner here}.  Halloween night itself is usually a little too crazy to be worrying about getting a dinner together!  We light a couple of candles and turn off the lights for that extra spooky Halloween ambiance! :)

For the table, I just moved around some of our Halloween decor from other areas of the house {you can find the Halloween tour here} and picked up some cute napkins at Home Sense {Home Goods}.

Mummy Muffins

Add some taco seasoning to cooked ground beef {or veggie ground}.  Toast English muffins and top with ground beef.  Cut thinly sliced mozzarella cheese into strips and add randomly over the top of the ground beef.   Melt cheese in toaster oven.  {be careful not to melt it too much or it will all blend together!}.  Add cooked peas for the eyes.

Jack-O-Lantern Crackers and Cheese

Top brie cheese with apricot spread.  Use a toothpick to shape it into a jack-o-lantern face.  Serve with crackers.

Witches’ Brew Punch

Mix a couple of large scoops of raspberry sorbet with cranberry juice and 7Up.  It foams right up into a nice brew!

Devilish Doughnuts.

Place gummy teeth or plastic vampire teeth in the hole of your favorite doughnut and add some candy eyes.

Spooky Science Experiments

We actually purchased this little kit from Target but it would be easy to recreate using jello jigglers and some gummy candies.  The boys loved doing this!
Everything was very simple to put together but it is a fun tradition to do every year!

What is the recipe for the monster pasta? It looks super cute. Is it just the green spinach pasta or did you use pesto?

I just used store bought pesto {although I do usually prefer making my own} but if your kids like pasta plain you could get the spinach pasta and just add some butter. Happy halloween!
