Ingredients

Berry Mixture

  • 6 cups berries (fresh or frozen) If using strawberries, use halved berries.
  • 1/2 lemon, juice squeezed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Crumble Topping

  • 1 cup quick cooking or old fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the berries, lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 2 tbsp. flour. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Transfer to an 8 inch square disposable cake foil pan.

  2. For topping, combine oats, brown sugar, remaining flour, nutmeg and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Using a pastry blender (or just your hands) cut in butter until mixture resembles course crumbs. Sprinkle topping over fruit mixture. Cover tightly with foil.

  3. Preheat grill and reduce heat to medium. Place pan on uncovered grill for 20-30 minutes or until fruit is bubbling and topping is crisp. If your grill doesn't have even heat, rotate the pan around for even grilling.

  4. Serve warm. Top with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
