As soon as May hits, I start getting a little antsy for summer to arrive.  Spring in the Lower Mainland can be warm and beautiful one day and cold and rainy the next {or sometimes all within the same day!}  And then there are those times that it rains for days and days, and you just need to pretend that it is warm and sunny outside. 🙂
So, after a weekend of solid rain, I took matters into my own hands and set up this little lemonade bar in our dining room. Â It’s the perfect way to bring some summer inside even if the weather is not cooperating with my wishes.
I mean, really. Â Can there be a better scent combination than lilacs, lemons and fresh strawberries? Â I don’t think so.
The lilacs are from our backyard and are one of the things that I always look forward to in the spring. Â I really can’t get enough of them!
If you have been around here for a while, you’ve probably seen my little “beverage bar” jars before {remember my Valentine’s Day Hot Cocoa Bar and Bunny Bar?}  It’s definitely made its way around.  I purchased the jars and basket at Decor Steals and have also seen them over at Farmhouse Decor {although I see that they are sold out right now.}
I made up the labels {you can download them HERE}, printed them out, and used a paper punch to punch them out.  I then just mounted them to some colorful scrapbook paper and tied everything together with some baker’s twine.
The chalkboard label is just a wooden rectangle that I purchased from Michael’s. Â I painted it black and then added some chalkboard vinyl over the front surface. {I have found that the chalk pens erase much better off the vinyl than the chalkboard paint!} Â
And if I get really lucky and the sun comes out, I can easily move everything outside.  The tray just lifts right off the table and can be transported out to the patio. 🙂
I have been working on a few new summer drink recipes to make with my lemonade bar and will be sharing them soon. Â For now, you might want to try this cherry lemonade slushie.
Or for a fun summer gift idea, try this lemonade in a jar.
Have a wonderful day!

High-five, Jenn, you just rocked it ALL!! I love lilacs – this is so adorable!! <3
Jenn, how about doing a recipe book post this May and including free printables? It's a difficult task to search for scattered recipes everywhere. I know you'll do the best at making the book and making the post because you always do – just like a Canadian!! See ya, Jenn – please do!!
