Ikea Hacks: BEKVAM Step Stool

I purchased a BEKVAM step stool about a year ago for one of the kid’s rooms but I never ended up using it in the space.   I knew I would find the perfect use for it though, and when we finally organized our garage this summer, our little stool finally found a new home.

Here she is in her new space. {You can see more of the garage HERE}.

We painted our garage in greys  {Behr Marquee in River Veil for the walls and Rainmaster for the shelving } but I wanted to add a couple of fun colors in there as well.  I fell in love with this Strawberry Wine color {also from the Behr Marquee line} and thought that it would be perfect for our plain looking stool.

I also finally got around to trying out our Homeright Max Fine Finish Paint Sprayer and was so glad that I did.  I had this stool painted in about 5 minutes – definitely a good thing for someone who does not typically like painting!  {I’ll write up a post on this at soon as it was super easy to use and saved SO much time!!}

Once the stool was painted, I thought that it still needed something  and decided to to add a little more detail. I grabbed some painter’s tape and some Behr Pure White…

Coming in at under $20, this stool is a great way to add some color {and function!} to any space.    Here are a few other Ikea hacks using the same stool to inspire you!

      lol! Yours looks really good with the wood left natural. I didn’t even think of that. And, yes, what would we do without Ikea?
