I'M BACK!!!

Hellooo??? {echo, echo, echo...} Is anybody there?  

I can't believe that it has been three long weeks since I have posted!  What started out as a short break to get caught up on things around here, has turned into a much longer than expected absence.  {I told you everything always takes me at least three times longer than I plan!}  The past couple of months have been extremely busy and I was starting to feel like I was running on a hamster wheel and just couldn't get off.  Something definitely had to give.

As much as I have missed blogging, the break was actually good.  I pretty much ended up taking a total technology break - minimal email, Facebook, blogs, and {gasp!} even minimal Pinterest!  And you know what?  I actually survived.  And maybe even liked it a little bit too...

I find that taking a step back really helps to put things into perspective.  When I started this blog, I really had no idea what blogging actually was.  The infinite amount of beautiful blogs and fabulous ideas out there was just amazing. And then Pinterest came along to make things even more addicting {and time consuming!}  At some point along the way, things started to get a little overwhelming and this blog started to feel more like work {without any income!} and less like fun.  Too much time blogging and not enough time enjoying life...

Now don't get me wrong.  There have been many, many positives associated with blogging.  Number one is definitely the connections that I have made with all of my readers and the other amazing bloggers out there.  I cannot tell you how much I love and appreciate all of your support and comments!!  They truly are one of the highlights of my day!

Blogging is also a great motivator for me to get actually get projects DONE!  I am now about half way done purging and re-organizing the house.  It has not been a quick project BUT everything that I have done has actually remained relatively clutter free and organized.  I have also tackled projects that I would never have attempted before {who knew that I could re-plumb our bathroom sink?}  Hopefully, I have also been able to provide a little inspiration to you too along the way!

So what does all of this mean for this little blog of mine?  Well... I'm not really sure.  I have SO many more projects and ideas rolling around in my head just waiting to be shared with you.  I just can't make the commitment to post on a regular basis.   Now in my ideal world, I would have more time {and more energy!}to create the blog that I have in my head - one of those beautiful, professional blogs with fabulous projects, gorgeous photography, and daily posts.  But unfortunately, I do not get paid to do this and there are many other commitments that must take priority.  {Darn!!}  So... I am really hoping that you will be able to stick with me through those busy times that I just can't get to a blog post {or two or three...}.

Okay, so now some fun stuff! Do you want to know what I was actually up to while I was gone?  Well first of all, my little baby turned 5.  Yes. FIVE!!!  

I really have no idea where the time goes but here he is - my favorite five year old!  We celebrated with a much anticipated Star Wars party and 10 other 4-6 year old boys.  Crazy it was!! {as Yoda would say...}  I have lots of pictures and lots of party ideas to share with you, so hopefully there are a few Star Wars fans {or Moms of Star Wars fans!} out there.

Now don't worry if you are not really into Star Wars.  I have also finished my master bedroom {hallelujah!} and have been doing some work on our front porch and entry way.  I have lots of pictures stored on my camera just waiting to be downloaded and edited.

And lastly, I have spent some time working on little ways to get more organized and will be having a month long organizing series in June - "30 Ways in 30 Days to Organized".  Over the last couple of weeks I have been experimenting with little changes to see how I can make things more organized and efficient around here.  PLEASE tell me that I am not the only one that needs this....

So there you have it!!  I will be starting my Star Wars Party series tomorrow {yes, there are just too many ideas for one post!} and The Creative Spark will return on Tuesday.
