Father’s Day Gifts

Hello all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I spent the afternoon strolling down South Granville {in Vancouver} with one of my best friends from high school.  We hit up Anthropology, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and some other fabulous home decor stores {with much better prices than the first three!}.  So much inspiration…if only I could win the lottery! I did manage to score some great items though and will try to take some pictures to share later this week.
So, for now, I thought I would show you what we made for Father’s Day this year.

If you have followed along for a while, you know how much I love my kids’ handprints {you can view my other handprint art here and here}.  I think I always do something with their hands or feet for Father’s Day gifts!  For this project, I used some foam board for the background and cut out the tree trunk and the vinyl words from my Silhouette.  Then the kids had their fun adding their handprints to the tree.  The quote is one of my favorites.

Last year we ended up making a little keepsake book for Dave and we will do something similar again this year.  I bought some chipboard pages, decorated the cover, and added some jump rings for the binding.

Inside, I added some plain paper and the kids did a couple of drawings.

I added some pictures.

I had the kids tell me things that they like to do with Daddy and what they think Daddy does.

Some more pictures of our favorite trips from the year.

And {of course!} HANDPRINTS!

Definitely a gift from the heart!

Well, before I leave I must give a shout out to our Vancouver Canucks.  Tomorrow night is game 6 of the finals and we will all be rooting for the cup to be coming back to Vancouver.  We can’t wait!!

GO CANUCKS GO!

I love the saying on the framed piece and the fact that you used your kids handprints to make the tree!

I really love both ideas. I get excited about hand and footprint art too; we made my hubby a canvas that had my son’s prints on it this year. Thanks for sharing, this gives me great ideas for the next time I need a personal gift. 🙂

Nice work you done. Giving unique gift to father is difficult task because every father is different and has own requirements eg some father likes travelling like my father. Some father likes playing from children and games. So give him right gift.
