Spring Wreath

Well, I am finally getting around to finishing my Spring wreath.  The weather has not been very Spring-like around here so it is hard to get into the mood!  Hopefully this will bring some sunshine out {for more than a day!}

I started with a grapevine wreath from Michaels that I picked up for $3.  I then added the flowers by sliding them through the twigs.  I did hot glue a couple of the smaller branches but for the most part they were pretty secure without the glue.

I had this metal rod thing {for lack of a better description!} hanging around so I attached it to the back of the wreath with twine.

I picked up the bird house at Jo-Anne's for $1.  I wish I had actually bought a few more.  Hopefully they are still there when i go down next time!

I gave it a coat of white paint and did a little sanding.  I added some scrapbook paper to the front of the roof and some left over moss to the top.  I then tied some hemp around it and added a little twig and a chipboard bird.

For the pennant, I cut out a diamond shape from some scrapbook paper.  I scored the diamond in half and attached some hemp with hot glue on the score line.  I glued the rest of the triangle together and outlined the border with black pen.    The hemp was then tied around the wreath to secure.

Now I just have to figure out where to put it.  It is hanging inside right now {I finally took down my snow covered pine cones!!} but I might move it to our door if I can find something else to go up on the wall.

Happy Sunday!!

I simply adore this wreath! It reminds me of the flowering bushes near my childhood home. Thanks for bringing back some memories for me!
