Bunny Bunting

Happy Friday!! The sun is actually shining here and I am well rested for a change!  Connor has been sick so we both went to bed last night at 8:00.  I am usually a night owl so that is a big change for me!

About a week ago, I came across the cutest bunny bunting while looking around Etsy and knew I had to make my own.   Here they are!

I searched the Silhouette site to see if I could find a bunny shape that I liked but no luck.  I wanted a big fat bunny and knew I had seen what I was looking for somewhere.  Then, when making lunch for Connor {his favorite Annie's shells and white cheddar}, I saw the bunny that I wanted.

{Yep, there it is.  The little bunny to open the box!}

Want to make one too?  Here's what you need:
  • A bunny template.  I drew out mine and then traced and cut out the rest {You can download a copy of mine here}
  • White cardstock {I used a pearlized white cardstock from Bazil}
  • Coordinating scrapbook paper for the tails {mine is Basic Grey}
  • Black ink
  • Black pen
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Pop dots
  • 3.5 inch scalloped circle punch
  • Hole punch
TO DO
  • Cut out your bunnies and outline with black pen.
  • Punch out the bunny tails alternating colors.
  • For the tails, I wanted to ink the edges to add a little more dimension.  I used this little ink dauber {from Close to My Heart} so the ink went on softer than directly inking from the pad.
  • Using pop dots, add the tails to the bunting.
  • Punch holes in the ears and string with twine or ribbon.
And there you have it!

You could also add some letters to the tail to spell out Spring or Easter but I kind of liked mine plain.

Now I just need to decorate the rest of the hutch!  I'll hopefully get a chance to finish things up this weekend!

See you soon!

HAD to hop on over here from Tip Junkie when I saw your bunny bunting--so cute! I'm not much of a paper crafter (actually not at all), but my 4yo son loves decorations that go along with the different seasons and holidays. So buntings are my new favorite go-to for decorating. And yours is lovely! I would be so appreciative if you would share your template with me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
