BEFORE
I can't believe I am actually showing you these, but here is the storage room before {WARNING: images may be disturbing to some viewers}
Lovely, isn't it?
This part here is the little section that we are going to section off and finish for my craft room. Can't wait!!!
AFTER
So here is where I am at right now. Please keep in mind that I still have lots to do and I promise things will look much better when the walls are up!
And here is my little soon-to-be craft space:
I purchased the desk from Target for $100. It wasn't my first choice but the price was right and it fit nicely within the room.
There are a couple of little shelves on each of the legs that I have stored some baskets:
And a cutlery holder works well for storage in the drawer:
I purchased this steel rack from Costco for $35:
The magazine holders on the top shelf are paper storage and fit 12 x 12 paper. The bottom rack also contains 12 x 12 paper storage in file folders {that I still need to sort through!}.
I have tried to keep supplies as visible and as easily accessible as possible. It is amazing what you forget you have when it is stored away! Here's some ribbon storage:
The kitchen is always a great place to look for items that you are no longer using that can be used for storage. I used an old bread basket for the larger, more well used punches:
And a magnetic spice rack for buttons:
I also got these cutlery holders and spice rack from Ikea that will mount onto a rod on the wall {once I have walls!}:
I love this storage system that I purchased from Michaels. I have collected a few pieces throughout the years and then received some more for Christmas. They are often on sale for 40% off and you can occasionally use a 50% off coupon. I will get around to putting labels on the drawers once I have finalized where everything is going!
This file folder system was my last purchase. It is from Target as well {I think it was around $60}. I added the vinyl CREATE to the front {I am definitely a little vinyl obsessed lately!} It has a ton of file folders up top and little cubbies below. I have been going through my huge pile of magazines, ripping out the pages that I like, and filing them into categories.
So, there is my work in progress. It has definitely been a lot of work but I can't wait until it is done. Anyone have any craft room ideas that they would like to show off? I would LOVE to take a look!

Wow, looking so much better. I need to do some craft organizing as well.

I stumbled upon your blog today and can't stop reading! I am jealous of your crafting space!
Congrats!! And thank you for showing pictures of your it-didn't-step-out-of-a-magazine-spread craft room. I for one needed to know I'm not the only one. ;)
I am re-doing a room that is a classroom/craft room and I stumbled upon your blog today. Fabulous ideas and well written. Thank you for sharing. I love the before pictures, because that is truly what most of us have for our space....a good intention and one day an organized space! I am even more inspired! Thanks!
I am off work today and just found the extra inspiration that I needed to get my "retro" room in order. I have a 9' high by 12' wide wall of built in's that I showcase old dishes, etc. on. This is also a craft area in progress... all the best!
